Star Wars Nikko R2-D2 Projector
Preorder your own R2D2 Projector, the ultimate gadget. With only 4000 being made and with over 50% already pre-ordered, if you want one, you will have to be quick.

Amazingly, this R2-D2 is in fact a working remote control replica of R2D2 built to about 1/2 scale, with many realistic sounds and lights taken from his appearances in Star Wars movies. This has to be the ultimate piece of kit for true Star Wars fans. As well as been a working remote control replica of R2D2 (built to 1/2 scale), with realistic sounds and lights taken from the movies, this is also a DVD projector that can project movies or still images onto your wall or ceiling up to 80 inches from corner to corner.

With his own integrated player, R2D2 lets you use DVD’s and CD’s. You can also connect external devices though the video and audio ports, project photos and videos directly from memory cards and USB flash drives.
If that’s not enough, then with the integrated iPod dock, even your iPod photos or videos can be displayed at dimensions of up to 80cm across. The iPod docking station can be found in a secret compartment on the front of the droids body and is compatible with 3rd generation iPod’s and higher. Now when it comes to sound, this little chap is supplied with stereo and surround sound which can be enjoyed through the integrated 20W speakers. So that’s all the multimedia bits out the way, now for some real fun.
This R2-D2 is fully motorized and his remote control is a scaled down replica of the Millennium Falcon. Using the remote control, you can move R2-D2 in any direction, rotate his head and even tilt his legs backwards, making ceiling projection possible as mentioned above.
The Millennium Falcon remote control is also used to control all of R2D2’s movements as well as the projector and audio functions. With the Millennium Falcon you also enjoy full control over your iPod’s menu. With a bit of kit at this price, I am sure that you would be worried about the droid falling down the stairs or bumping into the sideboard. Well your fears are allayed as Nikko electronics have designed R2 with a series of built in sophisticated sensors. The first of these is the surface sensor, which is used primarily to stop R2D2 from going over the edge! be it a step or the staircase. The second are the leg sensors, located on the body around the leg area, to avoid and prevent anything getting caught during any leg movement. The third is a projection sensor, that ensures that the unit is at least 1.5m from the object wall, or ceiling if you live somewhere with low ceilings, before projecting.
So what comes in the box?
Well when you buy a R2-D2 DVD Projector you will receive the following:
- R2D2 Projector
- Millennium Falcon Remote Control and Stand
- AC Adapter (110-240V) -7.2V NiCd Battery
- Lens Cover
- Instruction Manual (CD)
